One Dozen Berrys by: Chuck Berry
First Press Mono Chess Records 1958
Chuck Berry’s second studio album and aptly named. This has some great tracks on it, Sweet Little Sixteen, Rock and Roll Music, Reelin’ and Rockin’, etc… This is a first press and from 1958 which makes this record 67 years old. And being a senior citizen, this record has seen some things. The cover is basically in good shape with some seam repairs. The vinyl itself has some scratches but plays well, with not too much noise. We weren’t sure whether to call this out but there is a baby skip on the B side on our Technics player but it doesn’t happen on our Denon, so there you go. All in all, classic record and that cover makes us want a smoothie.
Grading System:
Mint – Sealed
NM – Maybe played a couple times, perfect otherwise
VG+ – Has some minor wear or scuffs/scratches but nothing outrageous
VG – Has visible scuffs/scratches but playback shouldn’t be greatly affected
G – Record will play, might not be the prettiest but gets the job done
